Draped Bed Jacket
Be sure to review entire pattern before beginning project.  Starting chain is given at end of pattern. You may find How to Change Garment Size helpful.



Materials:   Bernat Baby Wool (2-ply), 4 (1 oz.) balls, bone crochet hook No. 8   Gauge:  2 patterns = 1"; 2 rows - 1"

There will be no head opening in this garment.  To wear, open the bottom, slip sleeves on.  One "hem" will turn over across back of neck, forming collar.

PATTERN:-1st Row: Working along starting chain, draw up 1/2" loop in 4th ch from hook, skip 1 ch, draw up 1/2" loop in next ch, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 3, * draw up a 1/2" loop in same ch as last loop, skip 1 ch, draw up a 1/2" loop in next ch, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 3. Repeat from * to end. Ch 3, turn.

2nd Row: Draw up a loop in base of turning ch, draw up a loop under ch 3, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 3, * draw up a loop under ch 3 where previous loop was drawn up, draw up a loop under next ch 3, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Repeat 2nd Row for pattern.

Working loosely, make a chain 24" long. Work in pattern across chain and continue until piece measures 8" from starting chain. On next row dec 8 patterns at even intervals across row. Work even until piece measures 12".  At end of each of next 2 rows make a 10" chain for sleeves. Work even until sleeves measure 10" from foundation chains. On next row work to within 10" of end, turn, work to within 10" of other end. Continue to work across body, inc to correspond to other side. Break off.

FINISHING: Sew side and sleeve seams. Work pattern around bottom of jacket for 5 rows having 5 ch instead of 3 ch between sts. Work same border around bottom of sleeves.
