| MATERIALS: Clark's O.N.T.
Rug Yarn, 2 balls. Clark's O.N.T. Rug and Afghan Hook, size G. Ch 6, join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: 14 s c in ring. Join with sl st. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook and draw loop through, insert hook in next ch and draw loop through, insert hook in the back loop of same s c as sl st and draw loop through, insert hook in the back loop of next s c and draw loop through; yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a star st made). * Insert hook in fastening ch and draw loop through, insert hook in last loop of previous star st and draw loop through, insert hook in the back loop of s c where last loop of last star st was drawn through and draw loop through, insert hook in back loop of next s c and draw loop through; yarn over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (another star st made). Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd st of 1st ch-3 (14 star sts). 3rd rnd' Ch 1, * s c in top of next star st, s c in fastening ch of same star st. Repeat from * around. Join (28 s c). 4th rnd: Repeat 2nd rnd (28 star sts). 5th rnd: Ch 1, * s c in top of each of next two star sts, s c in next fastening ch. Repeat from * around. Join (42 s c). 6th rnd: Repeat 2nd rnd (42 star sts). 7th rnd: Ch 1, s c in fastening ch of each star st around. Join (42 s c). 8th to11th rnds incl: Repeat 2nd and 7th rnds alternately twice (42 s c). Make sl st in each st around, adjusting the stitches to fit your head size. Fasten off. Top Piece . . . Ch 9, 5 s c in 2nd ch from hook, 3 s c in next ch, 2 s c in next, s c in next 5 ch. Fasten off. Ch 9, s c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in 4 sc, 2 sc in next ch, 3 s c in next, 5 s c in last ch. Fasten off. Sew both pieces together along edges and fasten securely to top of Calot. |
