2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup milk
Maple sugar
Sift dry ingredients together, cut or rub in shortening, add milk gradually to make soft dough that can be handled. Roll out to one-half inch thickness, and cut in rounds. Brush half of them generously with softened butter, spread thickly (with finely grated maple sugar and put together in pairs. Place in greased pan, and bake in hot oven. Time in oven, 20 minutes. Temperature, 450°.
