2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons shortening
About 1 cup thick sour milk
Mix and sift dry ingredients and work in shortening. Add enough sour milk to make a soft dough (a little stiffer than the dough for Baking Powder Biscuits). Knead lightly on a floured board, roll out to about three-fourths inch in thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter. Place on greased baking pan and bake in a hot oven.
Time in baking, 15-20 minutes. Temperature, 425°. 8 to 12 biscuits.
