Steamed Hot Bread: Date Added: 9 Jun 2009

Ingredients

1 cup corn meal
1/2 cup rye meal
1/2 cup white flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons molasses
1 teaspoon melted butter

Cooking Instructions

Mix together dry ingredients. Add the milk, molasses, and melted butter. Beat thoroughly. Steam in well greased molds and then bake in a moderate oven. Time in steaming, 2-1/2 hours. Time in oven, 15 minutes. Temperature, 300°.
