Shape Fancy Yeast Bread dough with hands into three strips fifteen inches long, one-half inch wide, one inch thick. Bring three strips together at top. Seal by pressing together with fingers. Braid dough so that there are no open spaces, being careful not to get it too loose. Seal bottom end pieces. Bring two ends together to form circle, working sealed edges under¬neath. Lift into greased pie pan ten to twelve inches in diameter. Brush top with melted shortening. Put tin cup into center to hold dough in place. Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk. Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with finely cut almonds. Bake in moderately hot oven. Ice with con¬fectioners' sugar icing or dust with confectioners' sugar. Serve hot or cold. Time in baking, 20 minutes. Temperature, 400°.
