1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons crushed nuts
Sift sugar, baking powder, flour, and salt into a bowl. Add butter or margarine and rub into dry ingredients. Add beaten eggs and milk, and if necessary more flour to make a rather stiff batter. Spread about one inch deep in greased pans. Sprinkle top with sugar and crushed nuts. Bake in a moderate oven. Time in oven, 30 minutes. Temperature, 350°. Servings, 8
