Custard Sauce: Date Added: 6 Aug 2009

Ingredients

1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
2 cups hot milk
1 teaspoon orange extract or vanilla

Cooking Instructions

Beat egg, add sugar, salt and cornstarch moistened in the water. Add hot milk slowly to this mixture. Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Cool and add flavoring.
Soft Custard (see recipe) may also be used as custard sauce.
