Lemon Sauce: Date Added: 6 Aug 2009

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup boiling water Pinch salt
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1-1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

Cooking Instructions

Mix sugar and cornstarch, add water and salt and boil, stirring constantly, until thick and clear. Add Gutter and lemon juice. A little grated lemon rind or a bit of nutmeg may be added for flavoring.

Vanilla Sauce
Follow the recipe for Lemon Sauce (see recipe), using 1 teaspoon vanilla in place of the lemon juice.
