1/4 pound suet
1/4 pound raisins
1/4 pound currants
1/4 pound citron
1/4 pound figs
1/4 pound dates
1/4 cup lemon and orange peel
3/4 pound mixed nuts (shelled)
1/2 tablespoon mixed spices
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 pound brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup water
Mix suet, fruit, nuts chopped, and let ripen a week. Mix spice, flour, salt, baking powder, and add with sugar, egg, and water, to fruit. Mix thoroughly, then fill round molds half full and steam four hours. Serve with Hard or Lemon Sauce (see recipes). Servings, 12
