1 No. 2-1/2 can pears
3/4 cup fine bread crumbs
2 tablespoons butter
Sauce
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
Syrup from can of pears
3 tablespoons chopped preserved ginger
3 tablespoons syrup from preserved ginger
Drain syrup from pears. Roll pears in bread crumbs, place on a baking sheet and dot with bits of butter. Bake in hot oven until the crumbs are browned. For the sauce, melt the butter, add flour and syrup from pears and bring to boiling point. Add preserved ginger and syrup. Time in oven, 10 minutes. Temperature, 400°. Servings, 9
