Cornstarch Doughnuts: Date Added: 3 Aug 2009

Ingredients

2 eggs
3 tablespoons cooking oil
1-1/3 cups sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup cornstarch
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder

Cooking Instructions

Beat eggs, add oil, salt, sugar and spices and mix well. Add milk, then beat in the cornstarch, flour and baking powder which have been sifted together. Roll to about one-third inch in thickness, cut, and fry in deep fat. Drain on absorbent paper, and dust with confectioners' sugar mixed with a little cinnamon. Time in frying, 3 minutes each. Temperature 370°. 3 dozen doughnuts.
