1/2 pound powdered sugar
1/2 pound almonds
Few drops almond extract
Rosewater
Beat egg whites stiff, add powdered sugar and beat; then add almonds, blanched and pounded to a paste, and almond extract. Moisten with a bit of rosewater. Spread this thickly on the cake and cover thinly when dry with smooth plain frosting. Use for fruit cakes. Enough for 2 cakes.
