1-1/2 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
2/3 cup water
2 egg whites
2 tablespoons marshmallow cream
Cook sugar, cream of tartar, and water together until a little tried in cold water forms a soft ball (240°). Pour slowly on the egg whites which have been beaten until stiff, beating constantly. Add the marshmallow cream and beat until well blended. Put in a double boiler and cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until thick enough to hold its shape. Enough for 1 cake.
