2 cups boiled cider
2 cups water
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 quart sweet apples
Mix cider, water and sugar. Bring to the boiling point and add apples, peeled, cored and cut in eighths. Simmer for three or four hours, until the liquid is nearly all cooked away and the apples are dark in color. Do not stir as the apples should be unbroken. If fresh sweet cider is available substitute for the boiled cider and water.
