4 tablespoons fresh bread crumbs
1 cup broken macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon made mustard
1 cup grated cheese
2 cups milk
2 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Break macaroni into one-inch lengths and cook until tender in plenty of fast boiling salted water. Grease fireproof dish and lay in drained macaroni
Beat up eggs, add milk, mix both together, and, after putting tablespoon of crumbs and cheese o one side, stir remainder into eggs and milk. Season mixture carefully with mustard, salt and pepper, and pour over macaroni. Sprinkle rest of crumbs and cheese over top, and put butter in small bits here and there on it. Bake in moderate oven until top is browned and custard is set. Serve hot.
