1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons shortening
1 cup blueberries
Beat egg, add sugar and milk. Sift one and three-fourths cups flour with the salt and baking powder and add to the first mixture. Add shortening, and the berries which have been floured with the remaining one-fourth cup flour. Bake in greased muffin pans in a moderately hot oven. Time in baking, 20 minutes. Temperature, 375°. 12 muffins.
