1 cup bran
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon shortening
Add bran to the flour, soda and salt which have been sifted together. Add molasses and boiling water in which the shortening has been melted. Mix thoroughly, pour into greased muffin pans and bake in a moderate oven. Time in baking, 30 minutes. Temperature, 350°. 10 muffins.
