2 large onions
1 small green pepper
2 cups bread crumbs
1 small pimento
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
Peel and slice onions. Remove seeds from green pepper, chop, parboil five minutes and drain. Put one cup stale crumbs in buttered casserole, add a few pieces of pimento, then onions, green pepper, and rest of pimento. Put one cup crumbs on top, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and pour over the milk. Cover and bake in a moderate oven. Remove cover last fifteen minutes to brown crumbs.
Time in oven, 1-1/2 hours. Temperature, 350°. Servings, 4
