2 cups milk
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Baked pastry shell
Heat milk, mix cornstarch and sugar, add a little cold milk and pour into hot milk. Cook fifteen minutes. Add beaten egg yolks, salt, and vanilla. Cook five minutes. Cool, and fill pie shell. Spread with meringue made with egg whites beaten stiff, and one-quarter cup of sugar. Bake in a moderate oven until meringue is firm. Time in oven, 20 minutes. Temperature, 325.° Servings, 6
