1 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
If vinegar is very strong dilute with water. Scald vinegar and melt butter in it. Mix other ingredients, add hot vinegar, and cook five minutes over flame. Pour hot over shredded cabbage.
