2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1-1/2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon mustard
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 cup vinegar
Melt butter and add flour. Add milk gradually and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Mix egg yolks and seasonings, add hot vinegar and cook, with constant stirring, until thick. Combine mixtures. When cold, thin with cream as needed. The foundation will keep for several weeks in a cold place.
