Ingredients

1/3 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1-1/2 cups flour
2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon flavoring

Cooking Instructions

Cream the shortening, add sugar gradually, and beat well; add yolks of eggs well beaten and beat again. Add milk, flour, baking-powder, salt and flavoring. Beat until light. Fold in carefully the whites beaten to a stiff froth, and pour at once into lightly greased pans. Bake in a moderately hot oven. Time in oven, 20-25 minutes. Temperature, 375°. Servings, 10
