1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
2 cups cake or pastry flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mace
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup pecans
3 slices pineapple
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Add beaten eggs, then milk alternately with sifted flour, baking powder, salt, mace, and nutmeg. Add vanilla. Beat well, then add pecans and diced pineapple. Bake in small pans. Time in baking, 20 minutes. Temperature, 375°. 40 very small cakes.
