Chocolate Cake Waffles: Date Added: 2 Aug 2009

4 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 ounces chocolate
3 eggs
1-1/4 cups milk
1-1/2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cooking Instructions

Cream shortening and add sugar. Add chocolate, melted, and eggs well beaten. Add milk alternately with the flour, which has been sifted with the baking powder and salt. Add vanilla. Bake in a hot waffle iron and serve with butter and powdered sugar or whipped cream. Makes 4 large waffles.
